Madoff, as consistent a golfer. . .
Consistent returns rounds, low volatility, blah blah blah...
...although he stopped posting scores in May 2000.

The difficulty of track seems not to impact his his posted score. 68.8/118 v. 72.8/135 are 5-8 strokes apart for a player of his ability...yet his "scores" are roughly the same. Very unlikly just as always making 1% per mo is.

Jim, if you don't know how golf works don't open your mouth and stick your foot in. You take the score, subtract the CR, divide the result by the slope and multiply by 113. Then you average the lowest ten results (ones with an asterisk). You then take 96% of that average for your Index (Handicap). The 6th score down becomes (83-72.8)*(113/135) = 8.5.

Ole Bernie hasn't posted a new score in almost a decade!
Would I love to take him on now using that handicap! Talk about returns!
Perhaps Bernie will be able to upgrade his handicap in the BPGA.
That's Bureau of Prisons Golf Association.

Look at the slope of the courses 118? Is he playing from the ladies tees?

Looks like he retired from golf long ago...most of those scores are over 10 years old. I guess he got a little busy trying to find his way out of a hole instead of into one.

IN the U.S. at the time, your handicap is 80% of your top 10 scores relative to course rating. You can see the 10 scores used in calcuating the handicap (*). In whole numbers they are 14, 13, 12, 10, 12, 11, 11, 13, 12 and 11 strokes over the course rating. This averages 11.9 over, and 80% of that is 9.5. Close enough. QED

How on earth does he get a handicap like that with those scores ? In Europe he'd be lucky to be off 12 at best. Self delusion on the golf course as well apparently...
